With a dedicated career history spanning over the past 16 years, Charlotte is an expert practitioner in her field, and you can rest assured you will be in very capable hands.
"Making a difference to people's lives motivates me in my work everyday. As a practitioner, I have worked with a huge spectrum of clients. It has given me immense reward working in occupational health and supporting Firefighters back to operational duty after sustaining an injury or sickness absence. Providing expertise to help clients struggling with pain management, or helping clients improve their health and clinical measures, such as reducing blood pressure and reversing type II diabetes, positively impacting on their quality of life, is also extremely rewarding".
Whether you are attending a class, requiring a specific tailored programme or a specialist intervention, Charlotte is passionate and dedicated to ensuring you receive a first class service, and is available 'exclusively for everyone' wanting to achieve their goals.
I am Charlotte Hashim, the founder and creator of Pure Wellbeing. I refer to 'we' throughout this website, being that there is no 'I' in team, and my family are part of my team, helping me bring my vision to life.
My journey began in 2007, after having my daughter, when I made the decision to begin training to become a Personal Trainer.
In 2010 after having my son, I took the plunge to leave my full time office job and set up my new business called Pure Fitness and Wellbeing.
For the next five years my business grew, and my days were filled with such variety, from visiting my personal training clients consisting of GP referrals for weight management, to elite athletes. I was teaching a packed timetable of Zumba and Aerobics classes, working a few hours in the local gym and teaching children in various school settings across Nottinghamshire. I also arranged two very successful charity events in the community, raising money for Cancer Research and Muscular Dystrophy. I always knew that one day, my dream was to open a studio, when I found the perfect location, and the time was right.
In 2014 I commenced studying part time towards a BSc (Hons) Sport Fitness and Coaching with Open University.
I felt the time was right for me to develop my skill set and experience and in 2015 was successfully appointed into a clinical role as a Physical Activity Specialist on a newly commissioned County Wide Adult and Children Weight Management Service. I was able to continue to teach my classes for my business Pure Fitness and Wellbeing.
After six months I was appointed to the role as Lead Physical Activity Specialist, responsible for the Physical Activity function across the County, and managing a team of seven specialists.
In 2017 I left the weight management service and joined Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue, as the Fitness Advisor in Occupational Health, where I spent the next five years. My role was varied, and included developing fitness and strength standards, supporting and providing exercise rehabilitation to injured and de-conditioned firefighters, delivering group sessions such as circuit training and Pilates, leading on wellbeing initiatives, and being responsible for 23 station gyms across the County. I also arranged and delivered two further successful Zumba charity events in the service, raising money for Cancer Research and the Fire Fighters Charity.
If I were to list my top three highlights at NFRS they would be:
1. Achieving the Chief Fire Officers ‘One Team’ Award for my work during Covid, by quickly adapting delivery of Pilates and Circuit training to online to engage with employees during the challenging circumstances.
2. My second highlight was being asked to take the role as Vice Deputy Chair on the National Firefighter Steering Group. This appointment was in recognition for my work I had undertaken, creating a strength and conditioning programme for new recruits, along with videos. This can be viewed here https://www.notts-fire.gov.uk/media/p52at3z4/firefighter-recruitment-fitness-guidance.pdf
3. My third highlight was presenting at St Georges Park in Staffordshire for the National Firefighter Fitness conference in 2021. My presentation was on a Healthy Lifestyle Course that I had created, which was available for other services to use within their settings.
I very proudly graduated in 2020 from the Open University with 2:1 BSc (Hons) Sport, Fitness and Coaching, and to date, I still continue to deliver Zumba and Pilates in the local community. In 2022 I chose to leave the Fire Service to take a role in Occupational Health as Wellbeing Consultant at Nottingham City Council.
Ultimately my vision to one day open my own studio has never faltered, and in 2023 when I spotted the perfect location, the opportunity to realise my dream finally came to fruition. Every day is a learning day and I will continue to invest in my professional development, skills and practice. I hope that my expertise and experience combined with my passion and dedication to my work shines through with the services that I can offer to you today.
